Dawn of Spring
This piece was driven by a vision I had. There was a moment of synesthesia while I explored a new orchestra software. From the moment I played the first note, the screen fell away, and I saw a sweeping, desolate landscape of snow and ice, mountains brooding in the distance with a warm sun fighting to peek out from behind them. Amidst the frozen tundra, a brave, tender shoot of green poked its head from the snow.
It’s the triumphant defeat of the dark winter and the first dawn of spring.
